oplog.append_index_entry()

Append one record and sync it (one write of one line, O_APPEND).

)

A torn final line – an earlier append that was interrupted – has no newline; the new record starts on a fresh line so the fragment stays a fragment (skipped by read_jsonl) instead of swallowing this record too.
